I have been working in schools since 2016 and loved working with students in the classroom. During my time working at these schools, I have been able to accept increased responsibilities, which allowed teachers to assign more complex duties such as teaching small groups of students. Teachers were able to rely on me to continue lesson plans and assignments when they needed to leave the classroom. During my time as a student teacher, I have strengthened these skills and work with my mentor teacher and the other teacher's in the Math department to help plan out lesson plans and activities each week and I am always prepared and ready to handle any new work that my colleagues need me to handle. I also lead the students in each class as we go through guided notes during the instructional portion of the lesson and assign and grade the activities and assignments that are assigned to the students each day. I am also available and opened to help with any after school clubs or sports that students may be in and have currently been helping with after school math tutoring alongside my mentor teacher. These experiences have helped me to develop a clear understanding on how a classroom should be run and what I can do for the students in order to help them succeed when they are struggling.
