Although Lubbock is a big city, my high school experience felt similar to that of someone being brought up in a small town. I was able to participate in many extracurricular activities and was afforded the opportunity to be exposed to the local community through many different opportunities. During my time so far at Texas Tech, I have enjoyed all of my extracurriculars and being prepared for the professional world. Being proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel and Word, I am capable of creating numerous design materials and organizational spreadsheets. Along with the skills I am obtaining through my courses, I also am gaining much from the organizations of which I am currently a part of. This past semester, I was elected as assistant to the Director of New Member Experience. This position challenged and sharpened my leadership, communication, public speaking, managerial and organizational skills. Up until recently, I worked as a law clerk at Brady and Hamilton Law Firm, I have learned a great deal about the practice of law, higher education, and professionalism. I have had the opportunity to work with some incredible attorneys, city councils, and political figures. I have been able to become a better communicator by networking with various individuals. Additionally, my time working as the law clerk has improved my ability to communicate both verbally and in written form. I am also confident working in groups, giving presentations, setting up meetings and managing my time.
