Summary

I started plumbing when i was 19. It was the boss , his son and my foreman. Throughout the beginning of my apprenticeship i was the shop guy/ laborer and the apprentice. I dug groundwork's then laid them the next day. I was taught alot at once and was expected to retain that information to preform all job duties early on. Being a small company i had to preform more job duties than others. From being short handed during my apprenticeship i was taught how to layout jobs, supervise others and create expectations for others. By the end of my apprenticeship i was leading all jobs i was on and coordinating with sub contractors/ general contractors and preforming foreman duties. With all my hard work and dedication lead me to be the boss right hand man.

Journeyman Plumber

  • Run crew of apprentices and laborers on new construction / remodels and service.
  • Interpreted blueprints to determine locations and size of plumbing water and DWV system.
  • Service water heaters, water softeners , tub/ shower valves and faucets.
  • Direct and instruct all new employees including Journeyman, apprentice and laborers on company protocol, safety and job expectations.
  • Instruct and teach and assign duties to other employees on the job site.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other trades on installation of plumbing throughout house.
  • Work with home owners (walk throughs) on specific plumbing locations and heights of fixtures.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors on plumbing layout and changes.
  • Overlook other Journeyman work on job sites to make sure everything was installed correctly and to the company's standards. Correct other plumbers work if needed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized and clean job sit while working.
  • Keep detailed record of hours worked and materials used on every job site.
  • Tag and label all shut off valves and important items in a house for home owners.
  • Install gas pipe in homes and inspect new employees gas pipe installed.
  • Install new plumbing fixtures in homes.
