Volunteered as the VBS nurse at Briarwood Baptist Church. Provided first aid needs to children and adults attending VBS.

MEDICAL MISSION TRIP — Cusco, Peru  March 2009

Traveled to Cusco, Peru to care for women at high risk for cervical cancer. Under the direction of Dr. Daron

Ferris and Sandy Turner, RN, FNP; Pap screenings and women’s health education was provided to Peruvian

women. Other screenings included blood pressure and blood sugar checks as well as vaginal and physical

exams.

CAMP TO BELONG GEORGIA — Camp Twin Lakes  Rutledge, GA  June 2009

Volunteered as a camp counselor for siblings separated in foster care. During a week of camp, interacted with children aged 6-17, leading mentoring and disciplining. Other responsibilities included assessing the children for fatigue, dehydration, and adverse effects to medication. Also assisted children in coping with altered family dynamics.
