Summary

After delivering compassionate care for 29 years as an RN, I have recently gotten a Master of Science in Nursing, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified. Just as I received APRN PMHNP license in March 2021, an emergency need arose to assume temporary custody of 2-year- old great grandchild. I prioritized being present and caring for a 2-year-old again, before starting this new phase of career. I feel competent and prepared to assist in prescribing and caring for the psychiatric population that continues to grow. I am not quick to judge others and actually chose to move to this field after much experience was gained helping a daughter, and a granddaughter learn to live with mental illness. I enjoy working with people in general and working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance use. Recovery seems to be area of greatest strength.
