Presented a survey of literary works including novels, poetry, short stories, and devotional writings from both World and American authors, evaluating each alongside a biblical worldview and in light of the time period written. Taught, assigned, and graded persuasive, expository, analytical, and narrative essays and required polished papers to correct edits. Also assigned memorized presentations and speeches, grammar review and vocabulary practice

• Taught literature and composition to a group of homeschooled students weekly. Content areas covered include World, American, and British literature, literary analysis, descriptive, analytical, persuasive, and argumentative essays, research essays, timed essays using SAT and ACT essay prompts, and personal essays for college admission

• Instructed fourth to sixth grade students and their parents in the principles of language structure and analysis as well as the structure and style of writing using the Institute for Excellence in Writing program

• Educated middle school students in the understanding of the English language through reading and writing. Also taught ancient history using text reading, assignment of projects, and the employment of guest speakers. Responsible for lesson planning, grading, classroom instruction, and faculty obligations in both content areas

• Team taught Reading and History (1993-1994). Taught all content areas, including Bible, in a self-contained classroom (1994-1996). Tutored fourth, fifth, and sixth grade Math, History, and Language. Held bimonthly prayer meetings for sixth grade girls after school. Led basketball and football cheerleading practices, planned devotionals, and attended games
