Leadership Experience

During my time at Rogue Valley Terminal Railroad, I served as the assistant manager of a team comprised of engineers, conductors, and track maintenance workers. I adopted a democratic leadership style, recognizing that each team member was knowledgeable in their role. Instead of dictating how to handle various situations, I sought their input and perspectives. I found that this leadership approach improved morale, empowered the team, reduced the need for oversight, and enhanced staff retention.

While working as the front desk manager at Candlewood Suites in Medford, I took on a different leadership style, acting more as a coach. I mentored several staff members, empowering them, encouraging their learning, and setting attainable daily goals for them to work towards. I collaborated with other staff members to coordinate maintenance, housekeeping, and front desk responsibilities, ensuring the hotel operated smoothly.

I proudly won the Best Speaker award from Toastmasters International, demonstrating my ability to significantly enhance my communication skills, boost my confidence, and refine my volume and clarity. I became highly skilled at engaging with others during the question and answer segment.
