Responsible for starting up and shutting down all equipment at the beginning and end of the day. Performing daily rounds and taking meter readings. Responding to tenant work orders. As a Communication Electrician was responsible for running, placing, splicing, testing and troubleshooting both copper and fiber optic lines which are provided to fire houses and alarm boxes throughout New York City. Working both above and below ground and in confined spaces.

In 19 years working at Verizon, Have worked in various departments acquiring numerous skills and attributes. Very proficient at splicing, casing and testing both fiber and copper cables, with a very strong emphasis on the fiber side. Have worked both in the underground and aloft, very familiar and proficient at setting up manholes and manhole safety. Very strong knowledge of using various meters,, especially the OTDR and safety meters. Very strong at troubleshooting, print reading, running and pulling cables of all different sizes. Have my CDL class B license, able to drive different types of vehicles.
